How our questions are made
The SIE decides when your career starts, and you should not hand that to a question bank you have not vetted. Most prep companies ask you to take their word for their quality. This page shows exactly how ours is built, so you can judge the process for yourself.
Original by policy
Every question is written for Passline. We never use, copy, or paraphrase actual SIE exam questions. Reproducing real exam content violates FINRA rules and can jeopardize a candidate's registration, so original is not a marketing word here, it is a compliance commitment.
Built on FINRA's published outline
The SIE content outline is public, and our bank maps to all 65 tested concepts within it. Section coverage mirrors the official weights: 16% Capital Markets, 44% Products and Risks, 31% Trading and Accounts, 9% Regulatory Framework. Simulated exams draw their 75 questions in exactly those proportions.
Every option explained
A question teaches you nothing if it only reveals the right letter. Every Passline question ships with four explanations: why the correct choice is correct, and why each wrong choice is wrong. Across 1,600+ questions, that is more than 4,000 individual explanations.
Accountable after launch
Every answer you submit feeds concept-level diagnostics, so weak questions and weak concepts surface fast. And because the whole platform is free, the bank has to earn its place on merit: if it stops helping people pass, there is no price tag hiding that.
The pipeline every question passes
Five stages between an idea and your screen. No question skips a stage.
- 01
Blueprint mapping
We start from FINRA's published content outline and map every one of the 65 tested concepts, weighted the way the real exam weights them.
- 02
Original drafting
Questions are drafted fresh for each concept using modern tools, the same way most publishers now work. Drafting is the beginning of the process, not the end, and nothing from this stage reaches students directly.
- 03
Integrity checks
Every batch passes structural validation: exactly four answer options, no duplicate or near-duplicate stems anywhere in the bank, correct answers distributed evenly across positions A through D so patterns cannot be gamed, and a controlled mix of difficulty levels.
- 04
Expert review and approval
Every one of the 1,600+ questions in the bank is personally reviewed and approved by an expert before it can be served. Unapproved questions cannot appear in any exam or drill: approval is a hard gate in the database, not a checkbox.
- 05
Live accountability
Once live, every question earns its place. Diagnostics data shows us how questions perform against real students, and weak questions get rewritten or retired instead of padding a count.
Do not trust us. Test us.
The fastest way to judge a question bank is to read its questions and explanations yourself. A free account opens all of them, graded with a section-by-section breakdown, before you spend anything. If the quality is not obvious, keep your money.
